My Story
You know how they say people only change when they are forced into it? That’s kinda my story. I climbed the corporate ladder, got married and then got to stay home when I had my 2 kids. Living the dream! Except it was anything but. I was an anxious mess, so afraid that if I did the wrong thing (any where, at any time) it would all come crashing down. Ironically, that’s exactly what happened. In 2023 my husband told me he wanted a divorce. I knew things had to change… and so I did. Living on my own with 2 kids, and no one to restain the deck or kill a spider (actually I’m too big of an animal lover to ever kill a spider so bad example!). I was (basically) forced into doing hard thing after hard thing. Drive a UHaul? Check! Take 2 kids on vacation alone? Check! Rip the smoke detectors out at 3am when they wont… stop… beeping…?! Check, check and check. At some point I decided that if I was going to have to do hard things anyways, I might as well pick some things I’ve kinda sorta always wanted to try. So I purchased an online course in making furniture, and it was off to the races.
Now I feel compelled to help other people find the same strength and confidence that I have. Thank you for coming along this journey with me. Together we can build some cool things, laugh at our mistakes along the way, and feel totally bad ass together!
What’s in a Name?
Typically C-Suite refers to a group of top executives that run a company. I named this site cSuiteDIY because YOU have what it takes to run the business of your home and life. You can take on the important tasks, and make the important decisions. You don’t need to leave it to someone who you’ve imagined is smarter, stronger or otherwise better than you. I thought I was destined to be a C-Suite executive in the board room. Now the “board room” is my workshop, and I have found a confidence and happiness that no corporation could match. Also… c stands for cats. We do a lot of cat projects here!
